Cynthia & Lee Snyder

Thunderbird Travel opened its doors in 1974 as a full service travel agency serving Southern Illinois. The office was located in Carbondale IL near Southern Illinois University and continues to be of service to their staff, professors and students alike. After having worked for the agency since 1986, Cyndi (along with her husband Lee) decided to purchase it in 2001. They relocated the agency to their hometown of Murphysboro in 2006.

Meet Our Agents

    My name is Cyndi Snyder and I have been working in the travel business since 1980. My areas of expertise are domestic and international airline travel for the individual and/or corporate traveler. I have also worked extensively with missionaries helping them plan and reserve their travel to various overseas destinations.

     Having been on 8 cruises myself, I feel I have a unique perspective on what a traveler needs and wants. 

     Escorted vacation packages to Europe and other international destinations are of particular interest to me since I lived in Germany for 3 years while Lee was in the Air Force.

     My name is Phyllis McClellan and I have been helping travelers find their dream vacations since 1989. I have been working for Thunderbird Travel since 2002.

     I specialize in travel to Disney's Resorts, cruises and theme parks. Having been to DisneyWorld and Disneyland on several occassions, I can help you get a handle on what a family with small children can or cannot do at their resorts and parks. The fun is just around the corner.

     I work with a lot of people looking for something to do close to home. We've developed quite a portfolio of travel opportunities in our backyard within a 10-hour drive. We'll help you "Explore  America".
